Designer — Issey Miyake is a traditionalist at heart, his designs are a mix of East meets West and harness the best of both the beautiful traditional Japanese clothing and Western aesthetics. He is best known as a master of fabrics, from soaking cotton in freezing waters to give unique texture to inventing the permanent pleating he is world renowned for. Since the very beginning though his concept has been the relationship between body and cloth and how through movement they can become one. And this totally unique concept is what breathes life into his incredible designs.
