Oversized Hooded Coat
Issey Miyake navy oversized hooded coat from the 1988 Autumn/Winter collection. It features an oversized pointed hood, large double-sided leather cufflink buttons, full length sleeves, two waist level pockets, two inside pockets and an overhanging flap of fabric on the back. The inner vest features a wide loose fit design, thin layer of polyester batting, double-sided leather cufflink buttons, two waist level pockets, two chest height pockets and one inside pocket. Both the coat and vest are completely reversible and can be worn either way.

Designer — Issey Miyake is a traditionalist at heart, his designs are a mix of East meets West and harness the best of both the beautiful traditional Japanese clothing and Western aesthetics. He is best known as a master of fabrics, from soaking cotton in freezing waters to give unique texture to inventing the permanent pleating he is world renowned for. Since the very beginning though his concept has been the relationship between body and cloth and how through movement they can become one. And this totally unique concept is what breathes life into his incredible designs.
