Designer —Belgian designer Walter van Beirendonck (a member of the famous Antwerp Six) is best known for his wildly over the top creations and his ability to, each collection, create his own distinct world from elements of our own. His collections are instantly recognisable as his own, at a time when minimalist fashion was flavour of the month, Walter brought neon colours, in-your-face graphics and unconventional materials to the runway. Not to mention he was the first designer to show his collections online and stream his shows live for all to see, removing the snobbery from high end fashion. To wear pieces designed by Walter is to transport yourself into his alternate universe and to wear his ethos quite literally on your sleeve!
